Love magazine was founded in 2009 by
Katie Grand (stylist and fashion journalist). It is aimed at fashion and art
enthusiasts and has a gross international readership of 400 thousand. The magazine is driven
by photography and style rather than dictating what is and what isn't in
fashion. However, it features a vast amount of high fashion advertisements (more
than Vogue!). Editor in chief Katie Grand explains that she wanted to “celebrate the things I that love about [celebrities]"
instead of “stripping them of their flaws, just because that is what we have to
come to expect from them to justify their A-list status”, hence the
infamous fist issue cover of a naked Beth Ditto!

The mood board I have created above shows the versatility of the magazine and how it ranges from high fashion to art with a distinct London vibe. This can be seen when comparing the two images of Cara Delevingne. The first image of her has an edgy London vibe and would be seen on covers such as POP, whilst the picture of her laying in a bath wearing glamorous makeup could easily be a feature in Vogue and even shows resemblances to Tom Fords Black Orchid perfume campaign. I think this magazine is aimed at younger individuals in their mid 20's to early 30's who have a passion for art, culture and fashion and who conform to London's diversity.
When looking through Love Magazine, I noticed it was the most fashion based magazine that featured a lot of back stage information and pictures from SS/15 for both men and women. I also found that the articles that were featured differed from those featured in other fashion magazines such as diet and beauty tips and instead talked about the history of the silhouette and interviews with designs such as Ryan Lo. The magazine takes a daring approach when featuring such articles by teaming them with daring images depicting nudity and shocking themes despite the articles targeting strong and popular topics such as how women's body shapes are perceived.

Hi Charlotte, I crave women's glossy fashion magazines their aroma is addictive and gorgeous glossy pages are very tempting as I feel them, is LOVE magazine worth sourcing?
